Meet the Team Behind the
Preloved Fashion Event!

Say Hello to friends Lynne and Corinne.

Lynne Rose a Salisbury-based businesswoman and Managing Director at Personnel Placements and Corinne Whillock, the Owner and creative force behind Lulu and Boo Sustainable Jewellery have been supporters of the Stars Appeal for several years and are the people behind this November’s Preloved and Sustainable Shopping Event being held at the Guildhall Salisbury.

Corinne’s business Lulu & Boo is centred around sustainability and in a world where fashion trends change at a rapid pace, embracing sustainability and second-hand fashion has become increasingly important.  The pair recognised that providing a unique shopping experience that bought the sustainable and preloved world to the people of Salisbury would also be a perfect opportunity for the local community not only to enjoy a fabulous evening of shopping and learn more about the sustainable businesses in Wiltshire but also to support their local Salisbury Hospital and the Stars Appeal Charity – hence the idea of The Preloved Fashion Event Salisbury.

Corinne’s unique perspective on the difference the charity makes comes from her background as a midwife, where she witnessed firsthand the transformative power of the Stars Appeal. Working closely with patients, their families, and the dedicated hospital staff, Corinne saw how the Stars Appeal made a significant difference to people and their care at Salisbury Hospital.

Lynne’s motivation to fundraise for the charity stems from a personal experience that touched her deeply when her beloved Dad fought a courageous battle against cancer and received exceptional care and support at Salisbury Hospital. Several members of her family have benefited from the projects the charity funds and so, forever grateful for the work they do, Lynne has become an advocate for the hospital and volunteer for the Stars Appeal.

The friends are also connected by the Stars Appeal Treks that they both started in 2019. Walking together and sharing not just a room as they travelled but the highs and lows and amazing experience of trekking the Great Wall of China. In 2022 they completed an 100K to Petra across the Jordanian desert and are both embarking on another ambitious trekking challenge. In April 2024, along with their trek family, they trekked through the rainforests and up the challenging mountains of Colombia to The Lost City of Teyuna. Every penny they raised ahead of the trip was donated to help the Stars Appeal continue the work they do at Salisbury District Hospital. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the charity.

The Salisbury District Stars Appeal Charity plays a vital role in enhancing the quality of care beyond what the NHS can provide. Through fundraising efforts and generous donations, the Stars Appeal funds additional equipment, services, and initiatives that directly benefit patients and their families. From supporting cancer patients with specialist equipment to offering accommodation for families with babies in the Neonatal Unit, the charity has a far-reaching impact on the local community.

They can’t wait to welcome you on Thursday 21st November to the Preloved Fashion Event! Tickets coming soon!
